Dalston Superstore

Last Saturday we went out to St John's restaurant and filled ourselves full of meat. We then went to play at our favourite gay bar. *Insert 'fill/meat' joke here*

Later in the night/morning we ended up at the HQ of Diesel Radio hanging with Franz Ferdinand and Craig Charles off the telly (and crack pipe) fame.

Funny old world.

Picture this:

The trunk of Gino’s Porsche 930 is packed with uncut cocaine he needs to take from Marseille to Rimini in 48 hours for the biggest party of the summer, the police is on his case though, and so is DJ Marcello, who rocks the Mediterranean air-waves with the latest, cheesiest and weirdest disco shit.

Gino is no dodgy dealer, he is the driver, wide lapels, Carrera Aviators surely stuck in his black raven toupee and Lucky Striker dangling from his lips, Sartre meets less than Zero, the Visionary is the awesome sound of his head trip as he speeds down treacherous coastal roads towards a palace of white marble where all the beautiful people spin to trashy and blissful sounds under the silver moon.

This weekend..

First of all, thanks to everyone who came along to our party last Saturday. And thanks in particular to Marcus King and Casionova for keeping the disco machine working all night! Ace vibes! Details of our next party coming soon... Stay tuned.

So, this weekend...

Friday night, we're playing at the Future Disco launch party at the Queen of Hoxton, with some of the stars of the compilation, including Faze Action playing live, Crazy P, Severino and loads more. Let us know if you fancy coming down.

Details here

Saturday night we're doing the Bad Passion pre-party at the CAMP with Brighton's favourite trouble maker DJ AD, plus Phoreski and Strangefruit continuing the fun downstairs in the basement.

Details here

Sunday, if we're still standing, we'll be playing hang over records at The Book Club on Leonard Street. Come join us for a bloody mary.

Whilst we're at it, next Saturday you can catch us at Dalston's favourite Superstore, sandwiched between Ben Rhymer and Severino. Meaty!

Details here

And if that's not enough, we're on the wireless tonight at 7pm. Great tunes. Bad gags. What more do you need? www.ministryofsound.com/radio

See you soon!

How to make Tuesday feel great

Just seen this video for the first time ever, after reading a short interview with Daniel Wang on records he'd love to play, but never gets the chance. Well Danny should get himself over to the Cosmic Loft. I went through a period of playing this tune nearly every Saturday morning for about four months. In fact it featured on one of our mixes, which I'll have to dig out and re-post.

Any way, if you partied a bit too hard this weekend, just take five minutes out of your life to watch this video and listen to Herb's funky composition. I promise you'll feel pretty good afterwards.

Rainy Monday Music

We missed the Friday tune on Friday... So here's one for a rainy Monday morning. A nice little psychedelic number from 1968.

Mass debating

Are you a DJ?
Do you like listening to blokes talk to each other about obscure disco records?
Do you have a beard?

If the answer to any of the above is 'yes', then you should check out Bill Brewster in conversation with J.P. Massiera, tonight at the City Arts and Music Project, London.

(and if you like that, you might like this too...)
