Mix archive

We should really have done a new mix before we headed off to Croatia, but haven't quite got around to it yet... Still a couple of days though, so you never know.

In the mean time, here's one from the archive. We did this one way back in Autumn 2007, exclusively for our friend The Chungmeister, aka Sir Dom of Chung esq, and his Chibuku show on Ministry radio.

We thought we'd take this one a bit more uptempo for the Ministry crowd, and even attempt to mix some of the tunes! Thankfully this edit spares you having to listen to us yap on at the beginning though.

There's a few absolute killers on there, and to be honest, a lot of the tracks are still in my record bag nearly a year later... Not sure if I should be proud of that though!

Downtime...

After a busy few weeks for the Cosmic Truth, we took a bit of time out this weekend to chill before we all head to Croatia for a certain festival which kicks off on Friday!

We've had some excellent gigs recently, whether they've been in bizarre warehouses in Hackney, or in proper, bona fide Superclubs! Hello to everyone we met down at Ministry - we had a brilliant time, and hope you did too... Think these pics are a bit dark to make anyone out, but you never know.

This weekend was a bit less hectic, but we still managed to spread the cosmic message at the excellent Bronze Club @ the Macbeth on Hoxton street. The night was headlined by the Golden Silvers, who we think are probably the best new band around at the moment.

Cosmic Contact from Berlin via New Cross!

The second in our mix tape series - that's two in two days if you hadn't been counting. Not sure if it'll carry on like this, but we'll see. There's certainly plenty more to come!

This one is called Cosmic Contact, which 'spotters will recognise as being the title of the spoken word intro, by none other than the kings and queens of psychedelic soul - and our indirect namesakes - the Undisputed Truth.

I picked up a few of these tracks when I was out in Berlin recently, trawling the flea markets on Sunday afternoon after spending the previous 12 hours making the most the cities amazing night (and morning) life.

There's also a few cheeky edits in there, plus some more recent bits from the likes of Richard Gatteaux, Brennan Green and the Dissident stable.

Mix tape series

So, the first in what I'm sure will be an irregular series of mix tapes...

The first one is called the Beach Bar Blend and it was inspired by our booking to play over in Croatia at the Electric Elephant festival. And if you haven't got yourself a ticket yet, then get on the case - not long now.

It's a pretty chilled, summery selection, with tracks from Cerrone, Crosby Stills & Nash, Grace Jones, Herb Alpert, The Rolling Stones, and lots of other Balearic favourites.
