Bestival Recorded Live

Unable to do our September radio show due to already being on the Isle Of Wight, our ingenious producer Steve O brought across some gizmo that allowed us to record our set and broadcast that instead.

For once there's no need to endure our terrible crack!

Oh and after looking back at some vids of the set, I spotted America's Most Wanted villain in the crowd. Clever chap - the FBI would never think to look for Osama at a UK music festival...

..and also making a surprise DJ appearance was John 'Bergerac' Nettles, standing in for Rik 'To The Bone' Moran. He told us he prefers his house music thrapry, not throddy. You heard it here first!

August Radio

Find out whether Terry Wogan is a Theo man or a Moodymann, erm, man in this, the first show of 2010 where Ricky and Bazzy are together in the studio.

April (Part Deux) Radio Show - Stream/Download

Everyone has been skint this month thanks to the bank holiday at the start followed by four subsequent weekends.

The bonus of a 5 weekend month however is not one but two radio shows from our good selves. (Or rather my good self - Nicky is still on his jaunt!)

April Radio Show - Stream/Download

With Balfe still in the wilderness it was left to me to hold the fort again. I did take along a cuddly toy (above) to keep me company.

March Radio Show Stream/Download

With Balfe still in Spain 'finding himself' it was left to me to fly the flag this month.

The show features tracks from Herb Albert, FK, Danny Wang, Supermax and a new 12" on DFA to name a few.

Need to go back through what I played and put the full tracklist in the player. But for now you have the joy of listening without knowing what's coming up - just like when you listen to the radio.

Funny that.

Cyberdance top 100

Back in October of last year we threw a party with one of our favourite producers and DJs, the italo disco fiend that is Casionova

As well being an ace party DJ, Casionova also hosts a weekly radio show on Intergalactic.FM, called Magic Waves. After four years of broadcasting, the most recent show featured the top 100 most played records since Magic Waves began. And there have been some killers!

September Radio show - stream

Here's last week's show for streaming. Its a Bestival special - hurray! In reality, this equates to the opening track being Kraftwerk (in homage to their distinctly average outing on the main stage on Sat night), and a play for the track 'James Rowntree' gave us when we DJ'd after him - a rather nice edit/mix of Michael Jackson. Given that the track in question is one of my favourite records of all time, its a miracle that upon being presented with it, the CDR wasn't immediately used as a frisbee. It's actually a quirky, infectious take on the original. Ah, also included, there's a version of the Faze track which we opened proceedings with.

Also on the show, we debut our remix of Skinny Lister, a band who are signed to Sunday Best, the label who oversee the Bestival event.

See what you think by listening to the show on the widget here:

August Radio Show - stream

OK - doing a bit of jumping around here while we get into a groove.

Here we have LAST month's Ministry Of Sound radio show. Please be sympathetic to our average chat as its our first foray into radio (ignoring our hijacking of the Tirk radio show at last years Bestival, and our Cosmic Corner feature on Disco Bloodbath's Diesel radio show).

Ministry Of Sound Radio

Every month we're going to be providing a show of sonic stimulation going out on the mighty MOS radio under their Nu Disco banner.

Alternate weeks the music will be provided by a roster of Cosmic Truth friends such as the lovely Cosmo, the Idjut Boys and Toby Tobias of Late Night Audio and Rekids fame. Full details >here<.

The first show is going out tonight at 7pm - with us handing the batton over to Sir Dom of Chung and newly-wed Sean Brosnan after an hour.

To listen click >here<. And if you missed it going out live, don't worry. There's a listen again option on the site, and we're going to work out a way of hosting the shows on the blog.

Leave the 'face for radio' gags alone...

Mix archive

We should really have done a new mix before we headed off to Croatia, but haven't quite got around to it yet... Still a couple of days though, so you never know.

In the mean time, here's one from the archive. We did this one way back in Autumn 2007, exclusively for our friend The Chungmeister, aka Sir Dom of Chung esq, and his Chibuku show on Ministry radio.

We thought we'd take this one a bit more uptempo for the Ministry crowd, and even attempt to mix some of the tunes! Thankfully this edit spares you having to listen to us yap on at the beginning though.

There's a few absolute killers on there, and to be honest, a lot of the tracks are still in my record bag nearly a year later... Not sure if I should be proud of that though!

Have a listen and see what you think.
